Beth Easterly has an MFA degree and has been interested in photography for many years. She was granted a 3 month fellowship at an artist retreat in Taos to focus on her work. She’s a member of  Cape Cod Art Association, Westport Art Group and Fall River Art Association. She had her first solo show last fall.

Karen Raus works in both photography and encaustic. Her contemporary and colorful artwork focuses on coastal abstract images with an emphasis on the stunning landscape of Westport. Karen’s photography is included in numerous private and corporate collections.
Most recently, Karen’s image ‘The Landing’ appears on the front cover art of the 2011 Westport River Watershed Alliances Annual Calendar.  A recent work titled ‘Snow Fence’ was recently awarded Best Landscape in a juried exhibition in Little Compton. She is a volunteer Board Member of South Coast Artists, is an active member of the Westport Art Group, and has a studio in Westport.

Busted Stuff

Artisans Nate Edgcomb and Son will welcome you to their new workshop. A visit to this wonderful 1878 carriage house, filled with eclectic, artisan furniture will spark the whimsical side of  your imagination. There are always new works in progress such as a coffee table with antique horse carriage step legs, and a creatively decorated pumpkin pine blanket chest, adorned with hand wrought iron hinges and turn of the century trims.

There is something for everyone at this workshop and  all their pieces are one-of-a-kind works of art created with collections of vintage ephemera, gathered from old barn haylofts and special hiding places around New England. Nate and Son are avid ecoists and have developed a very unique talent for recycling aged and broken wooden furniture which will bring the joy of whimsy into your home for many years.

They are considered one of the Greenest workshops in the area and everything is locally made in their Westport workshop. In fact, do you have “Busted Stuff”?  If you need to clean out neglected spaces or well intentioned restoration projects, they would be happy to collect it at no charge and repurpose your Unwanteds into Artisan Creations.

They also will build a custom piece to fit any special space from their collection of treasures. You choose the elements, they build to suit. Creative print framing is another specialty offered.

Be sure to visit this unique workshop soon to refresh your whimsical side. 

Lamp-In-A-Box was started in 2007 by Daniel Cytrynowicz, who had been designing and manufacturing lighting in Culver City, California since 1999. The concept from the very beginning was to redefine the perception and experience of lamps. Inspired by “Swatch” and the T-Shirt industry, Lamp-In-A-Box created unique, affordable and fun table lamps, using its original designs. Soon after, Lamp-In-A-Box approached and embarked in partnerships with several artists as well as iconic brands in order to make lamps even more relevant to people’s individual tastes and lifestyles.

Barri Throop is a long time Westport resident and botanical designer. Her specialties are fresh and dried arrangements, wreaths, swags, flower and herb garden design for businesses as well as local residents. Barri also gives talks and is a regular at the Farmers Market in Westport.

She is well known for her contributions to the National Herb Society, Garden Club of Buzzards Bay, Westport River Gardeners and the American Daffodil Society. She has won flower and herb show awards for her amazing work.
